Massive wildfires in Chile continue to claim lives and force thousands of people to leave their homes. According to foreign press reports, the situation remains critical.

Gabriel Boric, the president of the country, has declared a state of emergency and ordered the military to be involved in addressing the consequences of the natural disaster.

According to official sources, the death toll reaches dozens, and hundreds of people are reported missing. More than 100,000 people have already been evacuated from disaster zones.

The port city of Penco, with a population of approximately 50,000 residents, has been hit the hardest.

A significant part of the city's infrastructure has been destroyed by the fire, as confirmed by video recordings made by eyewitnesses.

The damage from the fires is assessed as catastrophic. Rescue services continue to work on extinguishing the flames and searching for the missing.
