The President of Ukraine noted that Kyiv had proposed to organize the production of missiles both on its territory and in collaboration with NATO partners such as Romania and Poland.
In his video address on February 17, Zelensky stated: "We have already discussed with the USA the necessity of creating a sufficient volume of missile production in Europe, particularly for Patriot systems. Promises were made regarding licenses, but unfortunately, no decision has been made."
He also emphasized the importance of developing missile production for air defense in Europe and expressed confidence that European countries are capable of providing the necessary volumes; however, the current pace of increasing production capacities is insufficient.
According to Zelensky, such decisions could significantly enhance the defensive capabilities of the entire continent.
Kyiv continues to emphasize the need to accelerate arms supplies, especially missiles for Patriot systems, against the backdrop of constant attacks from Russia. At the Munich Security Conference, the Ukrainian leader once again urged Western allies to strengthen their support for the protection of Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure during the winter period.
