At the initiative of Khurelsukh, on the day when spring begins according to the Mongolian calendar, a golden statue of Chinggis Khan, along with the Great White Bunchuk and the State Seal, was installed at the National Museum of Chinggis Khan.
This statue represents an important historical symbol, capturing the moment when the Great Mongolian Khan Chinggis Khan created his new golden seal and proclaimed the foundation of the Great Mongolian Empire. On the seal, with the inscription “Мөнх Тэнгэрийн хүчин дор Их Монгол Улсын Далай хаан зарлиг ил болга иргэн дор хүрвээс биширтүгэй, аюутугай” (which translates as: "Under the power of the eternal Sky. The decree of the Great Mongolian state Ocean-khan. If it reaches the subjects or enemies, let them bow and be terrified"), there is a lion handle — these are the state symbols of the Great Mongolian Empire.
This act symbolized the eternal memory of the deeds of the Great Mongolian Empire founded by him and confirmed that the heritage received from ancestors would live forever. Next to the khan, the Great White Bunchuk was erected, embodying peace and stability for the Mongolian people.
From that moment, a tradition emerged to honor the golden statue of Chinggis Khan on the first day of the New Year, when three high-ranking state officials: the President, the Speaker of Parliament, and the Prime Minister pay their respects.
On the main square of Ulaanbaatar, on the first day of the XVII year of the Fire Horse “Süreer Daragch”, the national flag of Mongolia was raised, while the exemplary brass band performed the national anthem.
