According to the information presented at the event, the master plan covers both the territory of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and aims to develop tourist clusters, improve transport connectivity, and attract investments in projects within this corridor.
Representatives from various agencies participated in the presentation: the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Department of Tourism, as well as the administrations of Chuy and Issyk-Kul regions, businesses, and international organizations.

The initial version of this plan was approved back in 2019. The updated version takes into account the changes that have occurred in the tourism market after the pandemic and includes new elements aimed at sustainable development.
Among the main directions highlighted in the master plan:
- development of ecotourism and creation of environmentally sustainable infrastructure;
- implementation of renewable energy sources and reduction of carbon footprint;
- digitalization of cross-border procedures and improvement of transport connectivity;
- creation of cross-border tourist routes.
At the round table, participants discussed priority initiatives and possible key projects. It is expected that the implementation of this master plan will attract investments from international financial institutions, states, and the private sector.
The Almaty—Bishkek economic corridor is considered one of the most important projects for regional integration and tourism development in Central Asia.
