
At the forum, which took place during the World Economic Forum Week, key topics concerning the interconnection of geopolitics, economic security, and the future of the global tourism sector were discussed.
In his speech, Omuraliyev highlighted the strategic priorities of the Turkic Council in the fields of tourism and cultural interaction. He emphasized that tourism is a significant tool of soft power that contributes to strengthening international trust and regional stability through improved mobility and interaction among people.
The Secretary General also addressed how Turkic countries are adapting their state policies to the principles of sustainable tourism, which fosters economic resilience at the national level. He provided examples of tourism initiatives implemented within the framework of the Turkic Council, including the initiative to create the Turkic Silk Road and ongoing projects aimed at expanding international cooperation in the tourism sector.
Additionally, Omuraliyev held meetings with other high-profile forum participants and gave an interview to Euronews. During these meetings, he emphasized the growing economic potential of the Turkic region, which spans territories from Anatolia to Central Asia and from the Caspian Sea to Altai. It is important to note that Turkic states attract about 100 million foreign tourists, which is a significant achievement.
Among the forum participants were world leaders such as the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Gombojavyn Zandanšatar, and the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Harini Amarasuriya, as well as the Chairman of Euronews, Pedro Vargas David, and representatives from various countries and the private sector.
Forum participants discussed the importance of tourism for national economic resilience and the role of the state in global governance. The program also included discussions on public-private partnerships (PPP) and a round table dedicated to scaling climate resilience and achieving carbon neutrality in the hospitality sector.
