The minister paid special attention to the Eastern Big Chu Canal, which is a strategically important facility that was put into operation in 1957. This canal, which is 97 kilometers long, supplies water to an impressive area of 41,500 hectares. At the same time, large-scale work is being carried out on the R-24 canal in the rural municipality of Jaiylma to concrete the riverbed in order to reduce water losses: in 2025, 1,480 meters of the canal were updated, and in 2026, the concreting of another 1,280 meters is planned. This will provide additional irrigation for 1,100 hectares of agricultural land.
Additionally, Bakyt Torobaev inspected the Tuzov Basin, which was built in 1987 for water resource management. After the completion of major repairs, its water capacity increased to 1.8 million m³. The basin supplies additional water to the fields of the Jaiylmin rural district, including the villages of Tuz and Luxembourg, as well as the city of Kant, ultimately covering more than 2,400 hectares of irrigated land. The development of these hydraulic structures directly contributes to supporting local farmers and enhancing the export potential of domestic agricultural products.
