Kyrgyzstan aims to be among the 30 countries in the world that most successfully implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the UN Agenda-2030. This was stated by Choro Seyitov, the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, in an interview on one of the television channels.

The SDGs cover 17 different areas, including important aspects such as eradicating poverty and hunger, ensuring quality education, access to healthcare services, reducing inequality, environmental sustainability, and improving the quality of governance. Currently, Kyrgyzstan ranks between 45th and 47th place, approaching the group of countries with a high level of achievement of the SDGs.

“We are actively working on all areas of the Sustainable Development Goals and consider this a comprehensive task for the long term,” emphasized Choro Seyitov.

He also noted that the republic addresses 16 out of 17 goals, with the exception of one related to marine and ocean resources, which is due to the country's continental position. The national SDG tracker helps monitor progress on key indicators in the areas of education, life expectancy, income levels, ecology, and the quality of governance.

Seyitov noted that achieving the set goals requires coordinated efforts from all ministries, agencies, and regions. The implementation of the national development program involves sequential measures to improve the Human Development Index, reduce social and regional inequality, and ensure sustainable economic growth.
