Emil Kio, People's Artist of Russia, has passed away at the age of 88. He was a renowned illusionist and a continuer of the traditions of a famous circus dynasty, as reported by Forbes.RU.
The news of his death was published on his Telegram channel by Edgard Zapashny, the general director of the Bolshoi Moscow Circus.
“People's Artist of Russia Emil Kio has passed away at the age of 88. My condolences to his family, friends, and fans of this magnificent illusionist. May the earth rest lightly upon him!” — noted Zapashny.
Emil Kio was the son of the famous circus performer and magician Emil Renard-Kio. In his youth, he began his career as his father's assistant and later became an artist of the All-Union Creative Production Association of State Circuses "Soyuzgoskirk". Throughout his life, he gained recognition as one of the best illusionists in the country, performing thousands of shows around the world. His performances attracted over 60 million viewers.
