Kultaeva pointed out that Japikeev made a statement in an interview for a channel with an audience of 200,000 subscribers, where he expressed his opinion about the writer. "Aitmatov is a cultural symbol for us. Esteemed representatives of the Ministry of Culture, you must protect our cultural heritage. If citizen Syimyk Japikeev speaks out about our outstanding figure, you remain silent. I insist that you provide a legal assessment," the deputy emphasized.
She also noted that Japikeev's comments are actively discussed on social media and could be noticed by the international community.
In response, Deputy Minister of Culture Marat Tagaev stated that Chyngyz Aitmatov does not need protection from a person who is facing psychological problems and requires hospitalization. He added that the Ministry of Culture will prepare an official conclusion on this matter.
Kultaeva concluded that it is necessary to provide an official response to Japikeev's actions and conduct a legal examination.
