The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic plans to double the number of athletes in the country by 2030

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the launch of a large-scale program aimed at developing physical culture and sports in the country. The program will be in effect until 2030 and covers both mass and professional sports, infrastructure improvement, specialist training, as well as digitization and support for national sports.

The main objective of this initiative is to increase the number of citizens engaged in sports on a regular basis from 15% to 30%. As part of the program, it is planned to expand access to sports sections, school and student leagues, as well as organize events for adults and the elderly. More than 3,000 mass sports events will be held in the country each year.

The program also includes the construction of affordable sports complexes in rural areas, the creation of accessible sports zones and modular training sites, as well as an inventory of all sports facilities across the country.

An important aspect is the training of personnel, including sports doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, coaches, and referees. The modernization of the education system and the establishment of regional centers for sports medicine are also planned. In the field of high-performance sports, the construction of training bases, improvement of the reserve training system, and increased participation of national teams in international competitions are anticipated. Additionally, national sports such as kok-boru and Kyrgyz wrestling games will receive support through the establishment of development centers in each region.

Digitization will be a key element of the program: a new national e-sport platform will consolidate data on athletes, coaches, competitions, and sports facilities, as well as automate government services and monitor results.

Every six months, all state and municipal bodies responsible for implementing the program will report on the progress of the planned activities. The initiative aims to create a modern, accessible, and sustainable sports system that will enhance the health of the population and improve the international achievements of athletes from Kyrgyzstan.
