Peaceful Settlement. A New Round of Negotiations on Ukraine Will Take Place in Geneva

From February 17 to 18, a new stage of trilateral negotiations involving Russia, the USA, and Ukraine will take place in Geneva. The delegation of the Russian Federation will be headed by Vladimir Medinsky, assistant to President Vladimir Putin. This was announced by Dmitry Peskov, the official representative of the Kremlin, in an interview for the press.

Special envoy of the US President Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of Donald Trump, will also participate in the negotiations. Reuters confirmed their participation, citing an informed source.

Before the discussions on resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner plan to hold meetings with representatives from Iran, which will also involve diplomats from Oman.

This round of negotiations will be the third and will take place for the first time in Geneva. The Russian delegation will consist of at least 15 people.

Confirmation of the negotiations taking place from February 17 to 18 in Geneva was provided by Dmitry Litvin, advisor to the President of Ukraine on communications.

The Ukrainian delegation will include high-profile figures, including Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, head of the President's Office Kirill Budanov, David Arakhamia, who heads the "Servant of the People" faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov, First Deputy Head of the President's Office and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Kyslytsia, as well as Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Vadym Skibitsky.

In the previous two rounds of negotiations held in the United Arab Emirates, the Russian delegation was led by the head of the GRU Igor Kostyukov, while Vladimir Medinsky represented Russia in meetings with Ukraine in 2022.
