The Bishkek District Court granted the request of the local administration and established a temporary ban on holding peaceful gatherings in the Pervomaisky District, which will be in effect from January 1 to March 31, 2026.

According to information published by the court's press service, the decision was made on December 31, 2025. During the specified period, holding peaceful gatherings in the district is prohibited, except for official events at the state and municipal level, which are only allowed in Ala-Too Square.

All other gatherings must take place in the Maxim Gorky Park, located at the corner of Ryskulov and Isanova Streets.

It is important to note that bans on peaceful gatherings in the central areas of Bishkek have been imposed repeatedly. The first major ban was established in 2022 by the Pervomaisky District Court against the backdrop of mass protests near diplomatic institutions.

In the following years, the court continued to extend these restrictions, including the ban on rallies in the city center until December 31 of last year, allowing gatherings exclusively in the Maxim Gorky Park. Both the first instance and appellate courts confirmed the legality of these bans, despite criticism from human rights defenders.
