Daily, 150-200 vehicles passed through the posts
Employees of the weight and dimension posts on the Bishkek - Osh highway were detained on charges of receiving bribes, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to law enforcement agencies, the suspects regularly extorted money from truck drivers. The amounts of bribes ranged from 1,000 to 5,000 soms for the opportunity to pass with an excess of the permissible weight without the necessary documentation of violations.
Every day, between 150 and 200 trucks passed through these checkpoints.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the detainees under Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to abuse of official authority. During the operation, individuals such as A.Z. (born in 1991), S.U. (born in 1981), A.A. (born in 1998), A.R. (born in 1994), M.M. (born in 1979), and T.T. (born in 1973), as well as A.B. (born in 1994), were arrested.
Investigative actions are ongoing.
