In early 2026, a resident of Bishkek contacted the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a statement. He reported that a group of men, posing as law enforcement officers, demanded $10,000 from him, promising to resolve his issue related to a criminal case. However, after receiving the money, they disappeared.
The incident was registered under Article 209 "Fraud" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Two suspects have been detained: S.A., born in 1998, and S.M., born in 1976. Both have no affiliation with law enforcement agencies. The identity of a third suspect has also been established; he is A.A., born in 1982, who has a prior conviction. He is currently in custody in connection with the fraud case being investigated by the State Committee for National Security.
