The Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) reported that patients suffering from oncological diseases are entitled to free hospitalization if a repeat surgery is necessary within one year after the initial intervention. This rule applies to all cases where planned surgical intervention is required.
The MHIF clarified that in such situations, there is no co-payment for inpatient treatment, just as with the first hospitalization.
It is also important to note that during inpatient treatment, it is prohibited to demand additional payments for:
- consultations with medical specialists;
- conducting surgical operations;
- anesthesia;
- care for postoperative wounds;
- laboratory and diagnostic tests conducted in the institution.
