Sadyr Japarov discussed with the head of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank the possible support for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

- During a meeting with Zou Jia, the president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, President Sadyr Japarov discussed numerous issues related to joint work. The press service of the presidential administration reported this on February 12.

During the negotiations, the parties considered the possibility of implementing large projects aimed at the industrialization of the country, the development of transport infrastructure, and strengthening Kyrgyzstan's transit capabilities. Initiatives in the fields of agriculture and energy were also discussed.

Sadyr Japarov emphasized the importance of industrialization as a key direction that will strengthen Kyrgyzstan's position on the global stage. He highlighted the need to develop high value-added sectors, as well as to modernize and expand processing in industry, calling on the AIIB for active cooperation.

The president also identified the development of transport infrastructure as a strategic goal, stating that Kyrgyzstan should become a regional transport hub. He noted that the implementation of infrastructure projects would enhance the country's competitiveness and create new opportunities for economic growth.

One of the priorities, according to the president, is to eliminate the electricity deficit. He spoke about plans to increase generation, modernize energy infrastructure, and improve energy efficiency, emphasizing the strategic importance of large projects in this area. Japarov also highlighted the importance of investments in road infrastructure and invited the AIIB to expand partnership on key projects.

Zou Jia, for her part, emphasized that the AIIB considers Kyrgyzstan a strategic partner, reminding that the republic is one of the founding countries of the bank. She noted the positive trends in the socio-economic development of the country and confirmed the bank's readiness to continue financing current projects and support new initiatives.

According to her, the bank is interested in cooperation on infrastructure development, transport logistics, as well as expanding trade and investment, including support for the private sector.

During the discussion, special attention was given to the project for the construction of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1. Zou Jia noted its importance for the country's energy security and expressed readiness to consider the possibility of the bank participating in financing this project.

Additionally, the head of the AIIB announced the bank's readiness to explore opportunities to support the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, provided there are specific proposals from the Kyrgyz side.
