Today, serious changes are taking place in the field of preschool education.

The head of the K. Tynalieva kindergarten in the village of At-Bashy, Osipa Asanbekova, conducted a training session for the kindergarten staff. A Turmush correspondent spoke with her.

According to her, the feature of the newly adopted standard is a child-centered educational system. According to this approach, the educator acts not as the main source of information, but as a mentor and organizer of conditions for the child's development.

The main goal of the standard is to ensure the comprehensive development of the child as a personality. The educational process is organized taking into account the interests, capabilities, and individual characteristics of the child.

According to the document, the development of the child is considered in the following areas: health and physical development, social and communicative development, cognitive development, speech and language development, aesthetic and artistic development. These areas are implemented through play, in natural conditions, and with consideration of the children's age characteristics.

Also, the new standard identifies the following key principles: consideration of the child's interests, individual approach, inclusivity, creation of a developing environment, cooperation between the educator and the child, and close partnership with the family.

It should be noted that today the main task of the educator is not to "teach" the child, but to create conditions for their development. Currently, training events and workshops are being held to implement the new standard in practice.

— What was the main goal of today's training?

— We reminded the educators once again that the demands of today require asking children questions and assignments that encourage reflection. We also emphasized the correct application of the levels of competence previously discussed, especially Bloom's taxonomy (a fundamental tool used by educators and methodologists to formulate educational goals and assess learning achievements). We noted that in modern education, it is important to bring the child to the levels of analysis and creation.

— How were the requirements of the new state standard explained?

— According to the new standard, the child's development should occur through real-life examples and play exercises. It was noted during the training that developing the child's cognitive abilities using these methods is a key requirement of the standard.

— What changes should be considered when preparing a lesson plan?

— When preparing a lesson plan, the goal should be formulated not from the educator's perspective, but from the child's perspective. That is, the goal should reflect what actions the child will perform in the allotted time and what results they will achieve. It was also noted that it is important to set goals based on SMART criteria (a widely used goal-setting methodology that turns abstract goals into specific and achievable tasks).

— What did the educators learn during the training?

— At the end of the training, traditional and innovative lesson plans were discussed, and the educators received detailed guidelines on types of assignments when preparing plans of the new format. In addition, they received answers to unclear questions regarding the substantive goals of the standard and methodological assistance for practical application.

— What was the effectiveness of this event?

— Overall, the training was organized as a conclusion: during the week, the standard and the developmental program were discussed, and then practical work was conducted for reinforcement. The educators noted that they received answers to many questions when developing lesson plans and expressed their gratitude.

— What can you say about the significance of such training sessions?

— I believe that the frequent holding of such methodological events is a great stimulus for the professional growth of educators and helps to effectively organize their work.
