The temporary suspension of the BELES project, aimed at producing local buses, was announced by Urmat Djusheev, one of the founders of OsOO "Beles.kg," in an interview for 24.kg.

According to Djusheev, there have recently been many emotional interpretations and inaccuracies regarding the commitments allegedly made by the president and the government within the framework of this project.

“As a founder of the company, owning 50% of the shares, I find it necessary to clarify the situation,” he noted.

At the beginning of the project, the team did indeed plan to launch the assembly and production of buses on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. However, during interactions with relevant authorities and experts, serious shortcomings were identified, including non-compliance with international standards, technical requirements, and the need for deep modernization, as well as the lack of a complete production and service maintenance cycle.

After thorough analysis, it became clear that significant additional investments would be required to address the identified shortcomings, which far exceed the initially planned amounts. The initial investments had already been used, and further development of the project under current conditions turned out to be financially unfeasible. It is for this reason that the project has been temporarily suspended,” added Urmat Djusheev.

He also emphasized that neither the president nor state institutions had taken on any legal or financial obligations regarding the procurement of BELES buses.

“Claims about unmet promises from the state are not true. Even if a government order had been placed, the company would not have been able to ensure the production and servicing of buses in accordance with current technical and service requirements,” he noted.

Djusheev explained that they reached this conclusion consciously, in order not to mislead either the government or the public. At the moment, the founders are considering options for refining and modernizing the project to bring it up to the necessary standards before making further decisions.

Thus, the BELES project is not closed; it is in a stage of rethinking. “We strive to speak about this openly and professionally, avoiding politicization and distortion of facts,” concluded one of the founders of OsOO "Beles.kg."

It should be noted that four years ago, the first sample of the BELES passenger bus was produced in the republic, but further production could not be established.
