The Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations of the Kyrgyz Republic made an important statement the day before, urging higher education institutions and secondary vocational schools, regardless of their organizational and legal form, to cease the practice of penalizing students for missed classes and internships.

According to information from the ministry, this recommendation is aimed at protecting students' rights and creating uniform fair approaches to issues of academic discipline, as well as preventing unjustified financial penalties in the educational sphere.

The ministry also suggests using alternative academic measures that are not related to monetary fines, in accordance with current legislation.

As part of implementing this initiative, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations is starting work on changes to the regulatory legal acts concerning the functioning of higher education institutions and secondary vocational education.

It should be noted that the issue of fines for students for absences in classes was previously raised in parliament. Deputy Dastan Bekeshev emphasized that students should only be punished with academic measures, not financial ones.
