During the meeting, key areas of work were identified, based on the directives of the country's president. The head of the city emphasized the intention to actively cooperate with the team and to make every effort for the prosperity of the southern capital.
“I am not a newcomer here. My student years were spent in Osh, and I am familiar with most of you. The city is close to my heart, and I am ready to work,” said Janarbek Akaev.
He noted that the decision to appoint him as mayor was made after a lengthy conversation with the president, during which the pressing issues of the city, its prospects, and the need for broad support were discussed.
The new mayor emphasized that he would continue the implementation of already initiated projects. He noted that after the active work of the previous mayor, this would be a challenging task, but the team must maintain the pace.
“The city is our common home, and we must strive for results. Order is our main priority,” said Akaev.
He paid special attention to the need to change the approach to interaction with the business community. According to him, the president instructed to significantly revise relations with entrepreneurs.
“We must strive for partnership, not pressure and inspections. Business is our taxpayers and job creators. Our task is to create comfortable conditions for them,” noted the mayor.
In addition, Janarbek Akaev shared plans for actively attracting both domestic and foreign investors to the city.
At the end of the meeting, he called on the city administration employees to work cohesively, responsibly, and with discipline, emphasizing that only joint efforts could bring tangible results for the residents of Osh.
It is worth noting that on February 18, the president signed a decree appointing Janarbek Akaev as the new mayor of Osh. Previously, he held the position of a deputy in the Jogorku Kenesh.
