In his speech, which was broadcast on Iranian state television, Khamenei mentioned "several thousand" victims, adding that both the protesters and U.S. President Donald Trump, whom he called a "criminal," are responsible for this.

According to Khamenei, Trump incited the protesters by promising them support from the military.

The Supreme Leader also claimed that the protesters used firearms, which he said came from abroad, but did not specify from where exactly.

Additionally, he noted that the authorities intend to hold accountable not only the participants of the protests but also those who, in their opinion, organized these actions.

"We are not leading the country to war. However, we will not leave internal offenders unpunished, and moreover, we will not forget about international offenders," Khamenei emphasized.
