- On January 16, the parliamentary group "Ala-Too" held a meeting dedicated to pressing issues in the garment industry, employment, and the economic situation in the country.

At the meeting, representatives of the garment industry shared the problems they face, including difficulties in interacting with the Wildberries marketplace, restricted access to the Russian market, the need to diversify export directions, as well as the lack of laboratories for product certification, which complicates entry into European markets. They also reported the closure of more than 3,000 sewing workshops, leaving thousands of people unemployed, and requested support for the industry and local producers.

During the discussion, Deputy Jumabek Salymbekov requested data from the Minister of Economy and Commerce on the number of closed garment enterprises, emphasizing that production is declining and losing competitiveness. "What measures is the ministry taking in connection with these problems?" he asked, noting that Kyrgyzstan is a member of the EAEU.

Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov reported that issues related to interaction with the Wildberries marketplace are currently being considered.

Deputy Seidbek Atambaev raised the issue of attracting foreign specialists from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan to the garment industry. Deputy Talaybek Masabirov emphasized the importance of creating a logistics center and providing preferential loans to garment enterprises. Minister Bakyt Sydykov added that the Wildberries logistics center is planned to open by 2028. Deputy Bolotbek Borbiev highlighted the need to bring garment production out of the "shadow" economy. Deputy Cholpon Esenamanova discussed the rules for importing into Russia, product labeling, and VAT. Deputy Nilufer Alimjanova stressed the need for a comprehensive approach to diversifying sales markets. Deputy Azamzhan Jalilov stated that Kyrgyzstan should make the most of its economic opportunities within the EAEU. Deputy Azamat Isyrailov noted that conditions must be created for the development of domestic producers and to address issues of transport logistics and sales.

As a result of the meeting, the parliamentary group "Ala-Too" developed recommendations for the Cabinet of Ministers to address the identified problems, including issues of preferential lending and market diversification.
