At a meeting of the Budget Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Attorney General Umutkan Konkubaeva reported the initiation of four criminal cases against bailiffs in 2025.

Deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva expressed the opinion that the issue of alimony requires serious attention and reform, as she and her colleagues regularly receive appeals on this problem.

She provided an example where bailiffs did not allow a man, who was paying alimony regularly, to leave the country. "What should be done in such situations? They had all the information, but they did not contact him or notify him. Will there be accountability for bailiffs in such cases?" the deputy clarified.

In response, Konkubaeva stated that issues of accountability will definitely be considered. She also noted that five criminal cases were initiated in 2024, and four in 2025. The Deputy Attorney General suggested the possibility of corruption schemes, given the low salaries of bailiffs.

Konkubaeva added that digitalization aimed at combating corruption in this area is currently being implemented.
