A new approach to physical culture and sports is being discussed in Kyrgyzstan. The State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports has presented a draft resolution regarding the "Program for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030."

This document, designed to last until 2030, is aimed not only at preparing champions but also at creating an active and healthy society. The justification note states that the program has been developed in accordance with the National Development Program of the country, and its goal is to strengthen the health of the nation, increase the level of physical activity among the population, and improve Kyrgyzstan's international standing in the sports field.

Proposals for Changes

The authors of the program acknowledge that the sports sector faces a number of serious problems, such as a low level of mass participation, outdated infrastructure, lack of unified management, shortage of qualified coaches, and insufficient sports medicine systems. The new program is intended to serve as a "roadmap" for addressing these issues.

Sports for All Population Groups

The main focus will be on developing accessible sports for everyone. Plans include engaging people of all ages and social groups in regular physical activities, improving inclusive infrastructure, and supporting sports sections in schools and enterprises. A three-tiered competition system is also planned, ranging from district to national levels.

Digitalization of Sports

Special attention is being given to digital technologies. Plans include the implementation of electronic accounting of sports achievements, digital passporting of facilities, creation of online platforms, and integration with the "Tündük" system. These measures are expected to enhance transparency in the sports sector.

Support for All Sports

The program covers not only Olympic sports but also supports national, non-Olympic, and new sports, including esports. An important aspect will be the preparation for the World Nomad Games in 2026, including the selection of the national team and the provision of sports venues.

Focus on Human Resources

A key part of the program will be the development of human resources: improving the qualifications of coaches, implementing retraining systems, and modern standards for specialists. There are also plans to optimize state sports institutions and enhance their efficiency.

Support for Athletes and Coaches

The document outlines measures to strengthen social support for athletes and coaches, including one-time rewards, salary increases, and a scholarship system, which will be implemented step by step by the cabinet of ministers.

Health as the Foundation of Success

Particular attention is being paid to sports medicine, with plans to open branches of sports medicine centers in each region and modernize the existing Sports Medicine Center by expanding its functions and staff.

Establishment of a Youth Team Training Center

Another important innovation will be the establishment of a Youth Team Training Center, which will provide a systematic approach to training reserves and restore motivation among young athletes.

The draft Program for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports until 2030 has been put up for public discussion. It is expected that based on the results of the discussion, the document will be refined and become the foundation for long-term state policy in the field of sports.
