During a press conference in Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that while Russia may consider participating in the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project, its direct involvement in the initiative is not currently on the table. This was reported by the Interfax agency.

“Discussions about including Russia in the project have not taken place. The outlines of the TRIPP project are already defined. Nevertheless, it is beneficial for neighbors, both close and distant, to unblock transport communications,” emphasized Mirzoyan.

He also noted that Armenia does not seek to exclude Russia from the process. “Russia is present on Armenian territory through various infrastructure objects, such as railways. This could open opportunities for Russia to engage with the TRIPP project,” the minister added.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, after meeting with Mirzoyan, noted that TRIPP “provides Armenia with new opportunities for business and economic growth, while not violating its sovereignty.”

The "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" initiative aims to connect Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan through Armenian territory using a 42-kilometer route in the southern part of the country.

Armenia and the U.S. have also agreed to create a joint venture to develop transport routes within the framework of the TRIPP project.
