At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, a new list of employees for whom a reduced working time has been established was approved. Resolution No. 859 was signed on December 31, 2025.
This step is being taken in accordance with Articles 51 and 194 of the Labor Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as taking into account Articles 13 and 17 of the constitutional Law "On the Cabinet of Ministers of the KR".
The document presents an updated list of categories of workers whose labor has special characteristics, as well as specifies the normative duration of their working time, which is 5 or 6 hours per day in most cases, depending on the level of professional risk and the specifics of the work.
According to the resolution, reduced working hours are established for the following categories:
medical workers who work with infectious, tuberculosis, and psychiatric patients;
employees of rehabilitation centers and physiotherapy rooms;
staff of emergency medical services, blood centers, and laboratories;
pharmacy and pharmaceutical production workers;
experts of the forensic medical service;
specialists working with radioactive materials;
employees of social institutions and nursing homes;
workers of the laboratory-diagnostic service.
Additionally, certain groups working with cadaveric material or sources of radiation will have a reduced working day of 5 hours.
This resolution cancels:
the Government of the KR resolution of February 8, 2008, No. 39;
the Government of the KR resolution of March 5, 2010, No. 131, which amended the previous document.
The new measure will come into effect ten days after its official publication.
