Traffic jams are exhausting: Bishkek residents are waiting for the tram
To gauge the opinions of the residents, journalists from 24.kg conducted a survey among the citizens.
The survey results showed that the majority of respondents support the idea of implementing tram services. They believe that this will help reduce the burden on the road network and partially eliminate the problem of traffic jams.
Some survey participants also expressed the opinion that tram services could be beneficial not only within Bishkek but also for connecting with neighboring cities. In particular, it was suggested to organize a route between Kara-Balta and Tokmok.
However, not all respondents were unanimous in their opinions. Some expressed concerns that without proper organization of tram routes, additional traffic jams could arise, especially in the central part of the capital.
At the same time, many agreed that with proper planning, trams could significantly reduce the number of cars on the streets and improve the transportation situation in Bishkek.
It is worth noting that according to information from the city administration, the new master plan includes the construction of a tram line along Tokombaev Avenue, starting from the 12th microdistrict and heading towards the city center, and then along Kyiv Street to the Osh market.
