In the village of Poltavka, a 42-year-old man was detained for attempting to take the life of his elderly mother on the night of December 28 to 29. He tried to suffocate the woman with a pillow while she was sleeping. However, despite his actions, the mother was able to fight back, for which the son responded by hitting her several times on the body. This was reported by the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region.
After the incident, the woman contacted law enforcement, leading to the initiation of a criminal case under Article 138 (Torture) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the investigative activities, police officers examined the detained man's correspondence with his wife in the WhatsApp messenger and found messages in which he explicitly stated his intentions to kill his mother.
The detained individual, J.S., born in 1981, was placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The district court assigned him a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of two months.
Necessary examinations have been appointed for the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
