During the discussion of amendments to the law on the assignment and modification of personal identification numbers, which took place on January 19, Deputy Gulsharkan Kultaeva asked whether citizens' pension contributions would be preserved in the event of a change in their PIN due to error correction.

She noted: "If a citizen was issued a PIN with an error and it was changed, will the history of their contributions disappear?"

In response, a representative of the State Institution "Kyzmat" stated that the information about the old PIN would be blocked, but the history would remain accessible.

The deputy clarified: "If the old PIN is blocked, what will happen to the pension contributions? Will they disappear?"

Deputy Director of the State Institution "Kyzmat" Ernes Dosaliev agreed that this is indeed an important question.

He added: "Many citizens are unaware of how this works, which leads them to have to contact multiple ministries. The PIN is just an identifier, while a person's identity remains unchanged. The AIS system retains information about all issued PINs, including erroneous ones. Currently, about 150,000 erroneous PINs are registered in the Social Fund, and this is not the citizens' fault. Therefore, all social contributions remain with the person," he explained.
